Green Durga Puja Award 2012 !!!
The Department of Environment, Government of West Bengal and the West Bengal Pollution Control Board are committed to ensure a green and clean environment in our state. The success of this effort greatly depends upon generation of awareness and love for the environment. Since Durga Puja has now assumed the dimension of a social festival in West Bengal, we plan to make the best use of this opportunity for awareness generation and propagation of environmental messages. In this context, we initiated the Green Puja Award in the year 2011 for the first time.
Now we are happy to announce the second consecutive Green Puja Award (2012) in the city of Kolkata with added and adjacent areas including Rajarhat and New Town. There will be three awards (first, second and third) to be decided by a panel of judges based on criteria related to maintenance of a clean, green and wholesome puja environment.
In order to contest for the award, please submit your application form to the West Bengal Pollution Control Board (WBPCB) within October 12, 2012.
Selection Procedure
Preliminary: A few teams will visit the Puja pandals to shortlist the applicants.
Final: A panel of judges will visit the selected Pandals for final selection.
The Department of Environment and the WBPCB wish you very enjoyable and happy puja days.
