Kali Puja

THEME:Noise Monitoring Programme during festivals – Kali Puja

Like during other festivals, the West Bengal Pollution Control Board (WBPCB) had monitored noise pollution caused by indiscriminate use of loudspeakers and banned firecrackers during Kali Puja & Dipawali festivals held on 24.10.2003 and 25.10.2003.

In order to receive public complaints, a central Control Room was set up at Paribesh Bhawan in both the days from evening to late night. Besides control rooms were set up in the Regional Offices of the Board at Haldia, Hooghly, Barrackpore, Durgapur, Asansol and Siliguri.
